An essay by Megan Camp, Program Director at Shelburne Farms, chronicling the growth of the Farm to School movement in Vermont is published today in the Burlington Free Press Savorvore. Part of the on-going focus on the ways life in Vermont connects land, food and the people, the series regularly profiles people and programs who are producing good food for Vermonters to enjoy. Megan’s essay is a personal observation of the progress since a meeting 13 years ago when she and two other directors of organizations committed to supporting a sustainable food system launched Vermont Food Education Every Day (VT FEED). “Since that first pilot project, the food awareness seed has taken root and grown in Vermont schools,” she says.
