Farm to School is a program that connects students to local farms.
The goal: serve healthy meals, promote hands on learning and help farmers. A survey of the program was just finished. It found that out of about 320 schools, 200 take part in Farm to School. Students were also asked their opinions and out of 630 surveyed about 80 percent say they've taken part in planting a garden met a farmer and tried new food at school.
Abbie Nelson, from the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont, and Jane Kolidinsky, who teaches economics at UVM, appeared on The :30 to talk about the survey and the future of the program.
