SCHOOL FOOD RECIPES

The following draft recipes have been student and school food service tested in many Vermont schools. They highlight the use of USDA commodities and seasonal local products together in delicious recipes readily incorporated into school menus. They are designed to meet the cost constraints of school meal programs, while introducing more fresh and local foods into the diet of our students. In a number of schools that Vermont FEED has worked with, these recipes have been successfully introduced. These recipes and more will be included in the upcoming Vermont FEED local purchasing manual soon to be available for school food service staff in Vermont schools.
