For Teachers
Vermont FEED has worked with more than 100 schools to develop food, farm and nutrition education, and has worked with teachers to create and test 45 Vermont Standards-based curriculum units, now available on this website. Vermont FEED offers professional development opportunities and workshops for teachers to enhance and refine their curriculum, and to integrate food systems concepts into classroom units.

In 2009:
- Vermont FEED provided direct, on-site technical assistance and signifcant consulation with 42 schools and 121 teachers; affecting more than 9,000 students
- 10 additional Vermont schools received between $1,500 and $15,000 in state funded grants under the fourth year of a legislative program initiated and advocated for by Vermont FEED to increase food, farm and nutrition education, to use local foods in classrooms, and to link classrooms with school cafeterias and local farms.
- VT FEED along with Burlington School Food Project brought together more than 200 middle and high school students from 33 schools across the state to compete in the 2nd annual Jr. Iron Chef VT, bringing a crowd of over 1000 to raise awareness about farm to school in Vermont. The event promises to be even bigger this year-- don't miss the fun on March 27, 2010!
- VT FEED cohosted the Northeast Regional Farm to School conference in Vermont with over300 attendees
- VT FEED Trained over 100 food service personnel was completed through the Culinary Certificate program and regional workshops around the state
- VT FEED worked with more than 35 farmers supporting their marketing to, and connection with schools
- VT FEED conducted research and trials with minimally processed vegetables for schools.
